Breast aesthetics is a surgical treatment that allows woman to have ideal breast sizes and to solve the problems about the complaints. Breast surgery consists of many different treatments and is used for different problems. Breast reduction surgery is an extensive and rather long operation. The symmetry is also very important when reducing the breasts. After the breasts are reduced and shaped as planned, depending on the technique, there is a T or J form scar left around nipples, down the bottom line of the breasts or under the breasts. The size of the breast and the position of the nipple determine the scar form and surgical risks.
There are some risks associated with general anesthesia and independent of the surgery. These are the age, health conditions and bad habits (such as smoking) of the patient multiply these risks. Alcohol, chronic illness or medication consumption should be shared with the surgeon during the medical examination.
Surgery procedure Breast Reduction
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, you have to be sober for at least 6 hours. After routine blood tests and anesthesia examination the surgery can start. The surgery lasts for 3 hours. Usually, there is a T shaped (depending on the technique) scar left around nipples and going down until the bottom curve of the breasts. After the surgery the patient spend 1 to 3 nights at the hospital. Personally I prefer superior or super medial pedicle vertical technique. I prefer shaping the tissues and excessive fat around breast tissues with liposuction when needed. In some cases when the breasts are too big, the line between nipples and clavicle is too long, the patient has other health conditions or blood circulation problems, I use the technique called free nipple reduction where the nipple is removed and used as a patch. In every plastic and aesthetic surgery, I plan accurate the surgery and I prefer to use the best technique for the condition of the patient because then I will get the result I want. The patient will have drains located near under arms and wear a special bra after the operation. Depending on the condition of the patient, drains may remain for 2-3 days. It is advised not to move too much for two weeks. The following months (2-6) you will experience your breasts more positively. As in every surgical operation, there are some risks including hematoma, wound infection or stitches opening that can be treated with medical care.
